For any of you that know about the Rideout's, you may know that Rideout and car trouble come hand in hand. I exclude myself from this because I am not a blood Rideout, but somehow it comes with the name. Zach's car has been making a clicking noise whenever he turns so I took it in to the mechanic yesterday. His dad had a car in the same mechanic that was being fixed and was supposed to be done so I could trade when I got there. After sitting there for an hour and a half with a bored, hungry, ornery baby, they finally finished it. So as I'm getting loaded in the car, I get a call from my father-in-law saying to test out the a/c and see if when I turn it on, the car keeps running. If it dies, let him know and he'll come tow me. I'm so glad to be the one to test drive the car! Fortunately, I make it to work with no problems.
Now for the drive home. It is now the middle of the day, sunny, hot...and I'm in a hurry to get home, make cookies, and go visiting teaching. I start the car and don't even make it out of the driveway and it dies. So I try again and it starts up so I cross my fingers and start on my way (and hope the 25 minute freeway drive goes well.) I don't dare turn on the air so five minutes onto the freeway we are sweating and of course the car dies. I pull off to the side and the hazards don't work. I keep trying to start it back up and it starts and dies. I call my father-in-law and he comes to the rescue...and says start it up and see how far you get and I'll follow you home. Well it kept dying, so I'd throw it in neutral, turn it off and back on, all while coasting on the freeway. Needless to say, we made it home.
