Jordy Quotes

Jord: Mom, can you think?
Me: Think about what?
Jord: Think about it!
Me: What do you want me to think about?
Jord: Think about Chic-fil-a!
My sister-in-law was in the hospital having a baby and we were getting updates. I told the girls Allison was having her baby and Jordyn asked, "Is it a baby penguin?!"

I was getting the bath ready for the girls and when I went to get them, I noticed Jord with a jar of vaseline and she had it smeared all over her body. I asked why she did that and she said, "So I can swim and slide in the bath!"

We went to the dentist a week or so ago and ever since Jord has wanted to brush her teeth 10 times a day. One of the times she was trying I wouldn't let her and she said, "If you don't let me brush my teeth, they're going to need surgery!"

Not sure where it came from, but Jord's response to a lot of things these days is "Nice try, bro" or "Ok you dork."

On Valentine's day, I told the girls that the next holiday was going to be Jordyn's birthday. Without missing a beat, she said, "There better be chocolate."

Jordyn had some wrappers sitting on the table and I asked her to throw them away. "No, I'm good. You just keep them."

The house was silent, but Jord asked me to turn off the noise. I asked her what noise since nothing was on. She said, "That aching in my ears." She must have had ringing in her ears.

Caid Quotes

The other day we were at my parents house and Jordyn was doing something that we all started laughing at and Caid got all sad and asked why we never laugh at her. So, here you go Caidence. When you get older you can read through all of these millions of posts about you and how hilarious I really think you are!

Every morning Caid tells me about what she dreamed about that night. Then she asks if I had any dreams. One night I dreamed about swimming in the ocean in Florida and the next night I dreamed we were in Lake Powell. She asked why I only have dreams about vacations. We must be over winter in this house!

I was watching tv and Caid hid the remote from me. When a commercial came on and I was trying to find it to fast forward, she started laughing and said, "Haha! I made you watch the commercials!"

While we were reading before bed, she asked me, "What's the name of that book? And who's it authored by?"

She kept asking me to sing the Moon Sucker song before bed. I could not figure out what she wanted me to sing. She said, "You know. The Moon Sucker song you always sing to us." I finally figured out it's the song that goes, "Sleep tight, Sandman's a comin' and he'll be here, mighty mighty soon. And if you don't cry, he'll be comin' by with the great big lollipop moon."

Happy Valentine's Day!!

I love holidays! And I know I mention it every holiday, but I love holidays with kids! It gives me an excuse to decorate and hang up pink and red streamers and blow up balloons everywhere and just do things out of our ordinary routine. The girls have been begging for Stompeez slippers ever since they saw the commercial a few months ago and I finally found some imitation ones for half the price and gave them each a pair for Valentine's, as well as some chocolates and a book. They were so excited! Zach sent me on a treasure hunt throughout the house led by heart shaped notes resulting in a big box of Snickers Almond and a new camera! He's been stepping up his game these last few holidays! I gave him some cologne, a fruit bouquet (handmade!!), and made him a pretty elaborate dinner that he was too sick to enjoy. We also went to Caid's school for a Valentine's program that was adorable, and she was definitely "that kid," hamming it up like crazy! She sang the loudest, she danced around in her chair, and would dramatically point across the room at us anytime any song said "you." The cupcakes and cookies they had before may have had something to do with her hyperness.

The Fix-it Grandpa does it again!

My girls call my dad the fix-it grandpa. Any time something is broken, they just tell me they'll ask Grandpa and he can fix it. And he can. A few months ago the "Service Engine Soon" light popped on in my car. I thought oh great! Now what? I ignored it for a while until one day my dad had to move my car and in the 2 seconds he was in there, he said "I bet you just need to tighten your gas cap until it clicks a few times and that light will go off." I told him the gas cap had gotten lost. "Well then that's really your problem." So today I was finally driving past the auto store and I decided I had no excuse to not stop. I was already out, it wasn't a blizzard, and the store was right there. I bought the $9.00 gas cap and...as soon as I put it on and pulled out of the parking lot that stupid light went off! That man knows everything! They don't call him the fix-it grandpa for nothing!!

Kids Expo

After being sick on the couch all week, we got an invite from my sister in law to go to the Kids Expo. I must have really had cabin fever because it actually sounded fun. The kids waited in line for the bounce houses and big blowup slides over and over. We finally got them to move on to the other booths and they were in heaven. They got their nails and hair done from the beauty school, they got their face painted (Jordyn picked a spiderweb for Spiderman), and they played on the playground. And then back to more bouncy houses. After hearing about 6 parents being paged over the intercom to come claim their lost kids, we decided it was time to go.

My Poor Kids

Last year my sister threw her daughter a cake decorating birthday party. Each girl got her own hand sewn apron and a cake to decorate and take home. Last month my cousin threw her daughter a Princess Tea party with games and crafts and an amazing assortment of sandwiches and treats. Last weekend my other sister threw her daughter a "Night Owl" party with pedicures and facials and a table full of homemade treats, including marshmallows that looked like nail polish. She had cupcakes AND a cake, as well as dinner before. Each other the girls got a handmade owl mask and an owl bag full of pedicure supplies and jewelry to take home. Guess what my girls are getting if they are even lucky enough for me to throw together a party? Chuck E Cheese.
Jordyn thought the facials were the best part because they were "yummy." She kept pulling the cucumber off her eye, wiping off some of the avocado, taking a bite, and then putting it back on her eye.

More reasons we need Spring!

That evil bug hit our house. Zach got it first and was in bed for two days. As I was taking care of him and the two kids, I kept thinking, when's my turn to lay in bed all day and sleep and get a break? And then it hit me. And it was miserable! I was so bored and could see the messes piling up around me. I even kept Caid home from school because I didn't have the energy to get up and get her dressed ad ready. And mainly to have her entertain Jordyn so I could sleep. Getting sick isn't all it's cracked up to be when the messes are all still waiting once you feel better.
Jordyn found some Pringles and was not about to give them up. She had a death grip on them when she fell asleep.
We went over to Zach's parents for the Super Bowl. I layed on the couch whole time to at least have company and a change of scenery. The kids were all running around playing and the adults were surrounding the food table most of the night. Finally Jordyn came out to show us her tattoos. First she decided to shower with her clothes on so she had to take them off. Then she found a stamp with Papa Dan's signature that she tattooed all over her body. The ink was pretty permanent. She still had blue all over her stomach a week later.

Amazing that this little blob...
...turned into this in one short month!
