Winter Gymnastics Showcase

Caid is our little gymnast. She has stuck with it for almost a year now. We tried it at one place and she enjoyed it, but I wasn't overly impressed, but once we found this new place, we both love it! The teacher is darling and she gets so excited to go. Today we had her winter showcase where all the parents and family got to come and see what they are paying for. It was adorable! I was afraid we'd get there and she'd get scared and decide she didn't want to do it because of all the people watching, but she got right up on her turn and remembered her whole routine!
Warming up...Getting her medal, so proud!By far my favorite picture. Jord kept trying to get in all the pictures and Caid did NOT want to share her spotlight.

Remodel...again.

The lighting is terrible...but if I wait until tonight when the lighting is better, it won't be clean. :) I got sick of trying to keep my microfiber couch clean so we decided to sell it. We already had some leather couches we were storing at my parents so we decided it was pointless to keep storing perfectly good couches. Much easier to keep leather clean and I've banned the kids from having food in the TV room now in hopes of my rug and pillows lasting!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! / Happy Birthday!

The Leprachaun came to visit! He left Caidence the movie "Anastasia" which we have already watched 4 times and some princess pajamas and Jordyn got a "Dora" dvd and Dora pajamas. Jordyn also got a Dora table and chairs and some more princess high heels. I blew up about half of these the night before and then gave up. Kalee came over and finished them off. The kids loved them!Party Time! Making cupcakes...Jordyn and Emery, who is 6 months older than Jord.

Two Years Old!!

My little 5lb 12oz peanut1 Year OldSay Cheese! I'm 2!!Jordyn turned two on St. Patrick's Day. (However, if you ask her how old she is, she'll hold up 2 fingers but tell you she's 4, since Caid is almost 4.) She is such a happy, fun, hilarious little girl these days. She started out as a mellow little baby, turned 1 and had a few months of being my trouble-maker, and now she is fun and playful and less trouble. I can actually shower and not wonder what my house will look like when I get out!
-still tiny, mainly because she'll take two bites of food and then run around and play, two more bites, run laps around the house
-talks, talks, talks
-loves shoes, and can probably walk in my high heels better than I can since she wears them all day long
-always wants to get herself dressed, and can do a pretty decent job
-DORA! Watches it all day long. (But has a crush on Diego.)
-Chocolate milk!!
-loves babies, real or fake
-candy, candy, candy
-has learned the "drop to the floor" tantrum, but it's always pretty short lived
-loves to dance, especially to Justin Bieber "Baby", or LMFAO "Party Rock Anthem"
-has gone on the big girl potty LOTS of times, but it's no longer exciting so she decided she's done with that
-loves to have me hold her and sing to her at night (and I love it too!)
-loves to "help" me on the computer

Today Jordyn was carrying a cup of goldfish and tripped and spilled them, immediately followed by her rolling around crying "Goldfish!" like it was the end of the world. Me and Zach busted out laughing at her reaction. I helped her pick them up, she walked two steps, then tipped it over and dumped the cup out everywhere. I told her she had to pick them up this time and she bent down and scattered them everywhere. I took her to timeout and after a minute she called me in. Jordyn: Mommy, I ready to talk.
Me: Ok, what do you need to say?
Jordyn: Sowwy Mom. (followed by a hug.)

I think she's watched Caidence one too many times in timeout. She knew the routine all too well.

Jordy Quotes

While walking around Walmart, Jordy kept grabbing stuff off the hangers and holding it up saying "It fits!" Finally she held a bra up to her and said "It fits! Cute!"

After we'd been walking around Walmart, apparently way too long, she dropped to the floor, laid down and said "I wanna go home!" As soon we got in the car, though, she said "I wanna go Wa-mart."

Caid Quotes

Zach doesn't usually wear his wedding ring while working because it hurts when he grips the tennis racket (blah blah blah, excuses!) Caid saw it sitting there and she asked him, "Dad, do you not wear your ring because you don't want to be married to mommy anymore? Do you want me to have a different mommy?"

Caidence was lying there and I walked past and smiled at her and said "You're cute." She said, "Mom, I know I'm cute. But could you just leave me alone because I'm trying to rest."

St. George

Zach had a Sweethearts' Tournament last month in St. George so we decided to go down with him for a little change of scenery. We knew he'd be working the whole time so once we got there, we picked up a rental car so we could play. It worked out great because my parents had planned to go down the same weekend for Presidents Day so we got to watch my dad and uncles sing at the nursing home. The cute old ladies sing right along with them. We also got to see all my family that live down there that we only get to see a few times a year.Grandma and Grandpa surprised the girls with a whole bag of treasures: sunglasses, socks, crayons and princess coloring pads, squishy frogs... I think they knew they'd be taking us home a day early with them so they needed all kinds of stuff to keep them quiet.

Toy Story on Ice

We had so much fun going to Disney Princess' on Ice a few months ago with Teisa and Emie so when we heard they were doing Toy Story on Ice we decided to buy tickets for opening night (since they are cheaper...bonus!) I was nervous to take Jordyn and end up chasing her the whole time, but luckily she is under the age where I had to buy her a ticket. But that also meant she'd have to sit on my lap and I didn't know how little miss independent would feel about that. Well, she did awesome! I was so glad I took her. Her eyes just lit up when it started. The whole first half she just sat in awe eating her popcorn and clapping and cheering. And even if she had her own seat, she wouldn't have been tall enough to see anyways. The second half she got a little more restless, going back and forth from my lap to Teisa's, but the older girls were more fidgety than her. It was so fun to take the girls on a special mommy/daughter date! Next time we'll have to take Bayla, too, and we'll really have our hands full!!

Church History Museum

On Saturday, we met Natalie and the kids downtown at the Church History Museum. They have an area for the kids that they had so much fun playing in. There is a kitchen where they can gather their own eggs. The chickens make noises and Jordyn was a little freaked out thinking they were real. They had an area with costumes to dress up and dance to Spanish music that the girls spent about a half hour at!Looking out the windows of Nephi's boat :)

Movie Night!!

Snowman. Check.

Last year I realized I hadn't built a snowman with the kids so when we got snow the end of April, we made sure to build one. So this last week when we got one of our few big storms of the year, we headed out to build our snowman in hopes that we could check it off our list and not have to get punished with Spring snow for not building a snowman with my kids.
