Happy Father's Day 2014

I love these papers the girls do for Father's Day in Primary. I've wondered why they don't have them do it for Mother's Day, but it's probably because the mom's wouldn't be so forgiving if the kids put down that their mom weighs 1000 pounds.

We had a BBQ with the Eldredge side for Father's Day. Caid helped me make 3 dozen deviled eggs. She was so excited to help and try them. When we went to eat, everyone started in on the appetizers before we started cooking the meat. Caid was outside with her cousins and came in when dinner was ready. She looked at the empty tray of eggs and started to cry. She'd been out playing and didn't know that everyone had started eating them without her. She didn't get a single one. The next day I made her her very own batch. She took one bite and spit it out. All that work and she didn't even like them.

Lazy days of Summer

We've made it. 3 whole weeks. And everyone is still alive. But not without lots of threats of being grounded for the rest of the Summer. The first week out of school was the worst. The girls were so bored and kept fighting with each other. Trey wasn't used to everyone home all day messing up his quiet nap times. But we've found our groove. I think. We've resorted to lots of playing outside, riding bikes, swinging, walks to feed ducks. We've made Flubber, banana bread, every flavor of fruit smoothie possible. We've played with cousins, gone to the park with friends, gotten snow cones. But so far their favorite is swim lessons everyday. And they are getting really good at it!

Caidence got her latest bag of hand me downs from Brielle and this is what she wore to swim lessons the other day. I sent this picture to Jodi thanking her for these stupid clogs. They are worse than tap shoes because she can wear them in public. All thru the store I hear CLOP CLOP CLOP. In the car against the middle console I hear TAP TAP TAP. Thanks so much sisters for the fun shoes you've passed on!!

Movie night and sleepover with dad!

We've had a few cold rainy days so we decided chili and grilled cheese sounded good for lunch. The girls set up a table and even got Trey a chair and put him up to the table while I was cooking. He loves them, even though he thinks they're a bit crazy! :)

Caid Quotes

6 going on 16! Caidence walks, talks, and acts like a teenager. Her friends' mom said she tells her daughter to call Caidence to play just because she loves talking to her.

Caidence and Jordyn were playing and Caid was holding a fake cell phone. She said to Jordyn, "Girl, what wifi site are you on?"

The girls have been taking swimming lessons. After each lesson they get to sit in the hot tub for a few minutes. Caidence got in, put her hands behind her head, and said, "Ahh! Now this is the life!"

Ten Months

We've hit a turning point with this boy. Nothing is safe anymore. Trey is officially crawling, started on May 25 at the cabin. Now he's into cupboards, eating off the floor, throwing things off shelves, pushing buttons he's not supposed to, into everything! He's pulling himself standing so that he can get into more things he's not supposed to. Trey still has no teeth, but that doesn't slow him down. He ate an entire chicken nugget kids meal. (Not his own so I had to order a replacement for an unhappy Jordyn.) He loves to take showers, loves swimming, swinging, playing outside, anything Summer. He's on a pretty set sleep schedule. Wakes up by 8:00, eats and plays, then ready for a 2 hour morning nap. Then lunch and playing and errands, afternoon nap for 2 hours, dinner, playing, and ready for bed by 8:00. However, I took down his crib. He's never once slept in it longer than an hour. I decided to take it down and move some of the girls toys in its place. He makes me feel like a first time mom when it comes to sleep. He refuses to sleep on his own, no matter how hard I've tried. So I lay next to him for a few minutes until he's asleep and then sneak out and he gets a good few hours. But now that he's crawling he tries to crawl off my bed when he wakes up so he now naps on blankets on the floor. Whatever works at this point. The boy apparently runs the show around here. We did have a few successful days of letting him cry it out in the pack n play, but then he learned to sit up on his own so he'd just sit and scream for hours and be ornery all day. For my sanity, we cuddle. And I won't get the cuddles forever so I'm just loving them while I get them! He loves to scream for his sisters when I tell him to call "the girls," and they can always her him laughing. He's a pretty happy little guy as long as he's with people!

Preschool Graduate

Our sassy little Jordyn finished her first year of preschool. She loved it! At the beginning of the year I thought she was going to drop out. She would cry everyday when I'd drop her off. She wouldn't want to let go of me, but then she'd always say she liked it when I went to pick her up. After the first month, she couldn't get enough. It was only 2 days a week and she wished it was everyday. They had to fill out a paper of their favorite thing about preschool this year and two of the girls said "playing with Jordyn." She made lots of friends, loved snack time, recess, and had the best teachers! We love Ms. Karen and Ms. Pam!

I told the girls they could pick where they wanted to go to lunch for their last day of school. Caidence picked McDonald's. Jordyn picked Chic Fil A. Caid asked why she didn't pick the same place. Jordyn told her, "If I pick somewhere different, then mom has to take us to 2 lunches!"

Silver Lake

We love taking the kids to Silver Lake because it's an easy "hike." And by hike I mean a boardwalk around a lake. It's been 80-90 degrees so we thought it would be perfect weather in the mountains. It was 48 degrees when we got there! We were freezing! There were still huge piles of snow that we had to walk over. But the kids loved every second of it!
