Straws and Kisses!

Last night I was doing hair and the plan was for Zach to watch Caidence. Well then Alex comes along with 16th row Jazz tickets that of course couldn't be passed up so I told Zach to go thinking Caid would be her usual angel self and just play while I did hair. Not the case! She cried, no screamed, the entire time! Sorry Steph and Brian! I think she had an overload of sugar and people this last week and she was just done in. Even once they left she would not stop crying. And then the miracle toy, a cup of water and a straw. I don't know how she knew what it was but the first time we put a straw in front of her, she started sucking and has loved it ever since. So the second I pulled out the straw last night, she calmed right down. Then aunt Kalee came over, whom Caidence loves! She laughed and played with her...and learned a new trick, kisses! You ask for a kiss and she comes right at you, mouth open, tongue and all!

Okay, so my dad of all people bought the Wii. We never had a nintendo, playstation, etc of any kind growing up and once all the kids move out, he buys a wii for him and my mom. So Christmas Eve he challenged Zach to a tennis match which he won.And after my dad won, he walked past Zach and called him something that is best not repeated which resulted in the following.
Christmas morning: We slept at my parents Christmas Eve since Caid doesn't really get it yet
First time eating Swedish pancakes. I think she liked them! The day after Christmas we went to the cabin with Zach's family. Caid was fascinated with the fire......and with Kacy.Happy 28th Zach! He got the spend his birthday doing what he loves most, snowmobiling!

I can't believe Caid is already 8 months old! Time flies! Major accomplishments to date: rolling, army crawling, gets up on hands and feet, laughing, sitting, "mama, dada," and PICKING HER NOSE! She's so much fun and has blessed our lives so much! We love you little lady!

Birthday Week!

I love that birthdays aren't just one day, they are a week long celebration! At least mine was this year! And what better way to celebrate than to eat! Tuesday my friend Kristi took me to Cafe Rio and gave me a cute shirt and scarf (I love scarves and can't get enough!) Then Zach was too excited to wait for my actual birthday so he brought my present to me at work, a couple of jeans and a sweater. That night we went to Olive Garden. Wednesday I had to start the birthday off right with a trip to the dentist! Just a check up and all was good! Then the "boss" and Zach and Uncle Dave took me to Ocean City for lunch. Wednesday night I went out to Jodi's to take pictures for our Christmas cards. Pictures will be posted soon, after most have been mailed so I don't spoil how cute they are! Thursday I went to Olive Garden with Kalee, Mom, and Dad. Friday night we went to see "Four Christmases" and loved it! It's all too relatable. And to finish off birthday week, Jane cooked my Sunday dinner. Thanks everyone!

Saturday was SNOW day! We had our annual Anderson Family ornament exchange with all the girls so we headed out bright and early in the snow to get to Jody's. Once I got back home, we were so excited to just have a lazy afternoon and stay in where it was warm and dry. We ordered pizza and then were watching a movie. Caid pulled out some dance moves. We may have to come up to Seattle for Maddie to teach her some of her moves, since right now she's only got the one, the butt shake. (Sorry it's sideways)

Spoiled!

This is what happens when you work with Papa Dan! Between lime rickey's and rasberry lemonade from Aunt Kalee, candy canes from Grandma, dippin' dots from me, and strawberry shakes from her dad, it's no wonder she's got so much energy! (and chicken wings from Alex!)

Mexican Lasagne

So I was a little worried until I tasted it, but this recipe is delicious!!!

Brown 1 lb ground beef (I used ground turkey)
1 tsp Cumin
2 tsp chili powder (I only had taco seasoning which worked good)

Add:
2 cans chopped green chilis
2 cans stewed tomatoes, drained
Simmer for 5 minutes

Preheat oven to 375. In glass pan, place six corn tortillas. Cover with half a can of refried beans. Cover with half the meat mixture, then sprinkle with mexican shredded cheese. Layer another 6 corn tortillas, the rest of the refried beans, the rest of the meat mixture, and top with cheese. Bake for 25-30 minutes. You can serve with sour cream on top. Enjoy!

Welcome to the Gun Show

Merry Christmas Zach! He got an early Christmas, a shotgun and a pistol. We were up at his parents cabin for Thanksgiving so he finally got to try them out!

It was loud and COLD so we hung out in the car while everyone got their target practice in.
