Caid Quotes

When is it Christmas? Me and Jordyn can't be nice to each other so we need Parker (our elf on the shelf) to come back.

Caid has been in the phase where if Zach and I are talking, she will interrupt us. We told her she needs to wait until we are done, or else raise her hand if it can't wait. We were driving in the car and she was in the back seat. We were talking and when we had stopped, Caid said, "I was raising my hand to say something, but you guys didn't hear."

While we were sitting at a stop light, Caid asked me to roll down her window. We'd been sitting there a minute and I glanced over to see a teenage boy in the car next to us looking and laughing and smiling. I looked back and Caid was waving and smiling at him. The light turned green and as we drove away, she said "Dang! I should have asked him his name!"

I really should record Caid's prayers. They really are some good entertainment. Part of one the other night was "Please bless no bugs will crawl in my ears and lay eggs in there."

Another one was her first prayer in Primary. She wanted to do it all by herself. "Bless we'll have fun in Lake Powell. Bless it to stop raining (it was sunny as could be.) Bless Brielle won't beat me to pieces." (At this point all the kids were laughing.) She looked up at them and continued "Bless the kids will stop laughing. Bless I will have a fun birthday party (which is not until April.) Bless Kate won't be sick anymore." (Hadn't been sick.) It went on like this for a few minutes until the Primary helper helped her end it. She knew she was entertaining everyone. By the end of church, everyone was talking and laughing about it.

Princess birthday party

The girls were invited to a Princess birthday party last week and were...less than impressed. As soon as Belle showed up, they were asking where Snow White and Aurora were. Caid did say she could come to her next birthday party, if she brought Snow White with her. :) And I'm pretty sure Belle's dress weighed more than she did. She had them decorate a crown and then read them her story. Jordyn is not ready for parties yet. She just wanted the cupcake.

Sandy City Balloon Festival

I would just like to document proof that Zach came with us! He hates stuff like this, parades, fairs...but he came and enjoyed himself!! There was a band playing and the girls danced and made friends and played and begged to stay all night. Cotton candy, hot dogs...what else do you need?

Happy 8 years!!

Yep, we made it! A whole 8 years and we still like each other! I was gone to St. George so we celebrated early with sushi and Batman. Oh, and Hawaii next week. :)

St. George Girls Trip

I really could just talk about all the junk food we ate on this trip and it would sum it all up! Zach's sister, Mandy, was going down to St. George for Tuacahn with her girls and one of her friends and her kids. We were talking about it a few days before and since I had nothing going and am always up for a party, we decided to join in the fun. Jordyn was too young for Tuacahn since they have an age limit so we tried to have at least one early night, but that didn't happen. Mandy is a nurse and works crazy hours so the concept of time was out the window this trip. My kids were going to bed at 11:00, the rest of us were starting movies at midnight and then sleeping in until 10:30. They got done with Tuacahn at midnight and called me to see if I wanted a Diet Coke and McDonalds breakfast. It is definitely late night parties when travelling with Mandy! Also on the list, Nielsen's Frozen Custard, Pizza Factory, Rocky Mtn Chocolate Factory, Indian food, snow cones (multiple times), and tons of junk and candy at the condo! We went swimming, left all the kids and went shopping, and I even got to go see Grandma and Grandpa Coons. Grandma had just had surgery the day before and told me I should have brought her Jordyn to babysit so we could have gone to Tuacahn. Sweet Grandma! Never in a million years!
I LOVE the little girls faces when they first see the breadsticks!

Lake Powell

We have had such a fun, busy Summer! Last month we went to Lake Powell with Zach's family. Zach had to come home early to work and we were planning on coming home to keep him company, but decided we didn't want to miss out on any of the fun. And since the first two nights weren't fun AT ALL we needed to make up for it. It's totally different travelling with the Rideout's than with my family. If my family says we're leaving at 7:00, we're really leaving at 6:55. With the Rideout's the plan was to leave at 7:00 and we finally left at midnight! The kids slept horrible the way there, we pulled in around 4:30 am and slept in cars and got up at 7:00 to head to the houseboat. The first night on the houseboat a storm hit and we all (20+ people) piled inside the houseboat, on the kitchen floor, wherever you could find room. I was definitely ready to head home with Zach, but luckily the rest of the nights were better. A storm every night, but not enough to make me want to sleep inside. A little rain never hurt anyone! The kids played and played and loved every second. We had a kids talent show followed by a dance party, campfire and smores, chasing tubes and mattresses in the storms, wakeboarding, tubing, card games, and lots of fun!
