What? You don't sleep in your Uggs?

She saw these in her closet and wouldn't take them off! So we're wearing them again today.

Front Sight

For our 5 year anniversary Zach bought me a gun. Sweet, huh! So this past week we headed down to Vegas, actually to Pahrump, NV, for a 4 day defensive handgun course. Zach was like a kid in a candy store. We were out in the middle of the desert in 110 degree weather for 12 hours a day. Not quite the relaxing vacation I had anticipated. We learned how to shoot, clear your guns from malfunctions, check to make sure your gun is loaded in the dark, speed, accuracy, and anything else we never knew we needed to know in a gun fight. We had some awesome trainers, all past or current police or military, some work here full time, some just when needed as a hobby.
The "Monsters, Inc" course. They kept telling us to just keep walking until we saw the Monsters, Inc doors. This is what they meant. This course was to teach how to get to the bad guy before they get to you.
I think he would move here if he could. After shooting about 800 rounds, hands covered in bruises and blisters, we finally made it home.

And did Caid miss us? OF COURSE! But she was plenty entertained staying with Jeremy and Brittney and all her cousins. Thanks again!!!! But our first day back she was playing with my keyless entry while I was loading her in the carseat and I didn't know it. I threw the keys on my seat, shut the door, went to open the driver door, and locked. Keys, baby, and phone all locked inside. Luckily we were at the office at the time and Papa Dan had the equipment needed in his truck (from several past experiences of his own) and was able to get it open.

The time has come...

I've decided to make my blog private. If you want an invite leave me a comment with your e-mail or send me an e-mail at creed7521@yahoo.com. I'll probably make the switch around the beginning of October...

End of the First

Yea! I'm finally to the second trimester! I love the second...start to feel kicking, no longer look like you just ate too much for lunch, find out the sex so the shopping begins! And for most people the sickness goes away, but I was sick for all 9 months with Caid so we'll see if this one is any different.13 Week Bulge

These bad boys have been my life saver! They are just a wrist band with a little ball that presses on your pressure point and take away the nausea. I forgot to put them on one day after I got out of the shower and was so sick the rest of the day so I swear by these.
As far as what else is going on with us...nothing! Work, work, work. I don't think I've cleaned my house or cooked dinner in the last 6 months or so. I actually don't even feel like I've been home in the last 6 months. Zach is now on his fall schedule which means he teaches lessons early in the morning, gets a little break in the middle of the day, and then teaches until 9 or 10 at night so Caid is usually asleep and rarely sees him until the weekend. Its hard but we are so grateful to be working right now! Caid is definitely still the center of our world and has one strong personality. She doesn't walk, she runs. She talks more and more everyday, poopy and stinky feet are some of the more charming vocab terms she's learned. She's on a great sleep schedule, but we're moving her to a big girl bed in the next few months so I'm taking advantage of "the cage" as long as possible. She loves to tell stories and if you don't give her the right response, she'll get mad and tell you again. She loves to sing and dance (and definitely inherited my sweet dance moves.) She's also very sweet, loves to give kisses! And any time I am laying down, she'll put a blanket over me, bring me some of her stuffed animals, give me a kiss, pat me on the back, and tell me night night. Kids have a way of keeping us humble. Every time I get her something to eat, she folds her arms and waits for the prayer. I wish I could say this was because of something we always instill in her, but it was something she picked up and helps us remember. We can't wait to see what this next little baby has in store for us!

"Watch dis! Oink oink"

We made it to the fair this year! I try and get Zach to go every year but I've never been able to talk him into it. This year I had backup, Caid can be very convincing! She loved the animals!! She had to pet every single animal that she could reach. The cows weren't in a pen, just tied up and she tried to run right up to them.
And then she found out the real reason to go to the fair--food! Caid ate an entire corn on the cob herself and then helped everyone else finish theirs.
Warn out after all the fun! Maybe we can convince daddy to come back next year with two babies! All week she's been walking around making pig sounds (that sound nothing like a pig, more like a phlegmy cough) and now she's started telling us "Watch dis!" followed by a phlegm cough oink. Dang this girl is cute! But I'm partial.

Hypothesis #2: Intelligender

That's right. I am not patient. I don't care how inaccurate this little box may be, but I could not wait 8 more weeks to find out. Results are in.......it's a BOY! (well there's an 82% chance it's a boy.) I thought Zach would show at least some excitement that it could be a boy. His exact words were "I'll be excited when I see his little thingy." I'm not going to go out and paint my nursery off of these results, but at least it backs up my first hypothesis.

Last Days of Summer

Our last few weeks of summer have been pretty uneventful but we've been trying to enjoy every last second. We had the daunting task of cleaning out the garage so I bought Caid a pool to play in so we could get some work done. She did enjoy it for a while outside, but was more entertained playing inside with daddy.
We finally made it to the zoo this summer! I slacked on the mom duty of taking pictures but did get a few. Maybe I was too busy chasing my own little crazy animal! I love how she has to pull faces every picture, we never get a sweet little inocent smile! And look how cute the baby giraffe is! Only a few days old.
And finally...Emery Jane Rideout was born September 4. And couldn't have been better timing! I was at the hospital for my dr. appt (and the official due date is March 29). As I was leaving, I went down to labor and delivery to say hi to Allison who was induced earlier that morning. Right as I got down there, she was delivering so I got to meet little Emery just minutes after she was born. (And of course my awesome pregnancy hormones had me bawling like a baby the second I saw her!)We stopped by later that night so that Zach and Caid could see the baby. Nothing like Caid throwing a tantrum in the middle of the hospital to give all the new mothers a look into the future with their sweet new bundle of joy!
