Jordy Quotes

Jordyn climbed up on a stool and grabbed Zach's deodorant. As she was putting it on she told me, "My armpits stink. I need some odormint."

The girls were painting their nails. When Jordyn finished, she turned on some music and started dancing around. When we asked what she was doing, she said, "I'm dancing my nails dry!"

As she does 50 times a day, Jord came up and gave Trey a huge hug and kiss while I was holding him. She told me, "He's so cute! Thanks for buying him!" When I asked where I bought him from, she said, "From Old Navy."

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

A few weeks ago we headed down to St. George for Grandpa Coons 90th birthday. There were lots of games, food, and catching up with cousins. And cousins babies! So crazy seeing my "little" cousins having kids now! For such a quick trip, we sure kept it eventful. On the way down, the girls kept saying they had to go to the bathroom. But they'd wait until we had passed an exit and didn't have another for 45 minutes. We pulled over on the side of the freeway multiple times, but "it just wouldn't work."  Then the last night the kids were playing outside and caught a toad. Strider put it in a cup with a small hole cut in the top and about gave me a heart attack when I looked in and it jumped up at me. Then he wanted to take it to the church to show everyone at the party. When we were getting ready to go back to the condo, he put the cup in the car so he could let it go back where he found it. After we said goodbye to everyone, we got in the car, but the cup was empty. It was too dark to see so we searched the van the best we could, but didn't see it so hoped it had hopped out when the doors were open. Jodi and I still drove with our feet in the air to be safe. The next morning they emptied out the entire van, seats and all, and found our little friend!

Blessing Day

This handsome boy was blessed on Sunday October 13, 2013. Zach gave him a wonderful blessing. We kept up with the tradition and did it at home instead of church...and even the rain didn't stop the kids from playing outside. It was pure chaos and a perfect night. Lots of food, treats, and love!

Conference Weekend at the Cabin

We didn't get up to the cabin much this summer with Zach being in school and me being pregnant and wanting to be in my own bed. But by Conference weekend we decided it was time for Trey to get his first cabin trip in. Before we went up most of us had read a book about the Scofield mine disaster in Winter Quarters so we decided to go to the Scofield cemetery. It's a good thing I tagged along for that because I pretty much didn't leave the couch the rest of the trip, feeding the baby. I even had to miss out on digging a new hole for the outhouse!

Two Months

Time flies when you're having fun! Or sleep deprived... Trey's actually been a pretty good sleeper until these last few weeks. Then he hit his 6 week growth spurt and became fussy for a few hours each night before bed and then started getting up a few times in the middle of the night. Hopefully this will pass soon. He's been a lot more alert and playful. He still loves to cuddle and is starting to only fall asleep if he's eating or being held. We'll have to keep working on that one!

I took him in for his 2 month check up and he was so good with his shots! He cried right when they poked him, 5 times!, but stopped crying immediately after and was fine. He weighs 9 lbs 6 oz (10th percentile) and is 22.7 inches (50th percentile.) The dr. asked what he was eating, meaning nursing or formula, Jordyn said, "He eats my moms boobs."

Caidence, on the other hand, had the flu mist while we were there and the whole office could hear her scream. Not even the shot, just a little squirt up her nose, and thought she was being tortured. Jord got the same thing and said it tickled.
After his appt we did a whole lot of cuddling and sleeping, until that night when the usual crying started up again, but mixed with pain. Darn shots!

But by the next morning our smiley boy was back!
