The Little Gym

I took Caid to a Mommy and me class at The Little Gym today. She loved it! We played games, sang songs, played on the balance beam, and rolled on the gymnastics mats.

We have such fun grandparents! And I say this because we never got such elaborate parties as kids, just once the grandkids were born! And they love them...they ask for the party to be the exact same next year! My mom has started doing this Halloween party every year with prizes for best costume and biggest dud, the food is spider vomit, bloody eyeballs...And the grand finale of the night is the Wahlens Haunted Forest. Thanks for being such fun old people! We love you!

Baby Legs!

Aunt Jami sent us some Baby Legs. Cutest things ever! They are little leg warmers! Zach thinks she looks like an '80's dancer. Cutest '80's dancer I've ever seen! Thanks Jami! And thanks for your cute little girls who are at the age they dress themselves and refused to wear these...

After seeing on everyone else's blog that Gardner Village was the place to be, we decided it was our turn. We met up with Stacy and Carter, and her friend Shelly and her two kids. 3 adults+4 kids (3 under 6 months and a 2 year old)+4 strollers=CHAOS! It was pretty fun, though. We met and had lunch at Archibalds and then just walked around and took pictures.

Dress Up!

What's the point of having a little girl if you can't play dress up with her? I have to do it now because before long she'll be dressing herself, stripes with polka dots, tennis shoes with a skirt...

First Tooth

It's official. We have our first tooth. So sad...how did she grow up so dang fast!?

She's a Keeper!

Caidence is at such a fun age. She is 5 1/2 months and just getting more adorable! I'm a little biased though. She is rolling all over, well to her stomach, we haven't mastered the stomach to back yet. But once on her stomach, she pushes herself with her feet and scoots. She is very happy, as long is she is with people. She gets so excited to get attention. If there are people around, she refuses to go to sleep. She is also an outdoors girl. She can be screaming and the second we walk outside she's just fine, content as can be. Caid is such a happy baby. And totally a mama's girl. Hopefully she doesn't grow out of that!

But my one complaint as a mom is the shows that are now on. I've done the one thing I swore I would never do...I put her in front of the TV. She comes to work with me so that's the only way I can get things done. But the rest of the day I have the stupid, ridiculous songs stuck in my head. "I'm a map, I'm a map, I'm a map", "The phone, the phone is ringing. There's an animal in trouble" and this one comes with a duck that can't pronounce its "r" so it says things like "this is sewious." And the second these shows come on I start singing along unknowingly. So I have no choice , but to go home and watch smut like "The Hills" and "Desperate Housewives" and my new favorite "90210" just to recover.

Experimenting with Dinner

So lately I've been trying to be the little homemaker. And my newest effort has been cooking dinner every night. But I got sick of the same thing every other night so I've been trying new recipes. This wouldn't be so hard if my husband could actually eat normal food, but since he can't, I'm forced to be creative. Some of the recent dishes have turned out terrible, but some have been delicious...if I do say so myself. But last night's dish was exceptionally delicious so I'd thought I'd share if anyone is in need of a change.


Creamy Rice, Chicken and Spinach (from Kraft Foods Magazine)
1/4 C. Roasted Red Pepper Italian and Parmesan Dressing
1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
1 1/2 C. chicken broth
2 C. minute rice
8 oz. cube of cream cheese
1 Pkg spinach leaves (8 oz.)
1 Large tomato, chopped
Parmesan cheese

Heat dressing in skillet on medium-high heat. Add chicken, cook 3 min. Add chicken broth, bring to boil. Stir in rice, return to boil. Cover. Reduce to medium heat. Simmer 5 Min. Add cream cheese, stirring until melted. Add spinach and tomato. Cover and cook until spinach is wilted. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and serve.

2. What kind of car did you drive? a blue pontiac grand am, I think it was an '89, but after having my friends push it out of many intersections, we got rid of it and I got a camry

12. Where did you sit during lunch? Either McDonalds, Blimpies, Burger King, the foodcourt at the mall...

14. Did you go to homecoming and with whom? Chad, as well as almost every dance

15. If you could go back and do it again, would you? Yeah, I enjoyed myself, but I'd like to go back knowing what I know now, that everyone goes their own separate ways after so don't worry about impressing others

16. What do you remember most about graduation? That I had to fly home for it. I was in Florida with my "other" family.
17. Where did you go senior skip day? That was just one day? We had a few...

18. Have you gained weight since then? See question 12...no I weigh less now.

20. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion? I didn't go to my 5 year...did we even have one? I doubt I could drag the hubby with and I don't really want to show up alone...

21. Looking back, what advice would you give yourself? Enjoy it, before you know it, it's over and you have to pretend to be a grown up

What were you doing 10 years ago? Raising raucous with Hilary, working at the tanning salon, just starting high school

5 years ago? Hanging out with the Granite guys, going to as many concerts as you could imagine, and still with Hilary all the time

Poor Girl!

This contains a little TMI for some people so fair warning...Caidence has been sick this week and I've never felt so bad for the little thing. She's had some serious diarrhea. We're talking blow outs on MY lap! And I've never loved her more! You can tell she's not feeling good when she just lays on my shoulder and falls asleep. Then last night we woke up to her crying. We went in to check on her and it was everywhere! All through her pajamas, her back, her stomach, and all over the crib. Poor thing! So mom and Caid took a bath in the middle of the night, stripped down her sheets, and she slept with us the rest of the night.

Tennis Player in Training

She has no choice. Her dad teaches tennis, coaches, and plays, and his time off he's watching sports on tv. The girl is going to be an athlete. Let's just hope she doesn't inherit her mom's athletic ability.

I'm always being told how big she is, so here is a comparison, born the same day. She may be a little rolly polly, but she still looks miniature! Cute cousins...so much fun together!
