Cousins

Zach's brother and his wife went out of town for 2 weeks so we stayed over and babysat part of the time. They have 3 boys and one little girl. Emery is 6 months older than Jordyn so it was perfect for both of my girls. Last time I watched them neither Emery or Jord were walking so I was exhausted by the end because they both wanted to be held and carried around and if I was holding one, the other would cry. This time was MUCH better. They played and played and played! We love having so many cousins!

Mini Golf

We took the girls mini golfing for a fun family night out. They loved it...the first hole. Then it turned into throwing the ball and chasing it and throwing rocks in the pond. Maybe we'll wait a few years before trying this one again.

Jordy Quotes

We were sitting in Sacrament and of course it was quiet except for my kids. Jord has no idea what talk quiet means. All of a sudden she starts poking my boobs and saying "There a baby in there?" I told her no (trying not to laugh) and get her to be quiet. She keeps poking and then tries lifting up my shirt "I want to see the baby in there!" We need to work on her reverence. :)

I was changing Jord's diaper and she said "Mom, it's a big rock!" I started laughing and said "When did you get so cute?" She answered without a second thought "Umm, 5 minutes ago!"

I was checking Caid's blood sugar and Jord was watching. She said "If I get diabetes, I go to dr. and he poke my finger, owie?" She is one smart 2 year old!

Caid Quotes

We were on the freeway the other day and Caid yelled, "Mom! Look! There's a big pecker!" "What?" "Look, a pecker balloon!" I looked over to see a big bald eagle balloon. :)
She has these imaginary friends that she doesn't talk to, she talks about. They are her grandmother and grandfather that are seriously fun people! They live in a green house and take her to do everything! Anytime we're going to go anywhere, she tells me about the time her grandmother and grandfather took her there. She tells everyone stories about her grandmother and grandfather and they assume that they must be true. They're not.

My dad came home the other day in his work car and it says "Millcreek" on the side. Caid asked me what it said so I told her. That night she asked Grandpa if he drinks milk from a creek all day at work.

We were eating lunch with Zach at his work and there were some of the tennis students sitting close by. Caid said "Mom, remember when I came out of your belly and I drank from your boobs?" The students were trying so hard not to laugh.

Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband

Zach's sister, Mandy, is a nurse at Alta View Hospital and for their 30th Anniversary, they had a private concert at the Sandy Amphitheater with Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband. It was amazing! I love them! The girls danced and danced and danced in the aisles. And when Jord had enough of that, she danced her way on stage. And stood right next to them singing staring at me, almost daring me to come up. Luckily once I ran up to get her, she didn't run the other way, she did come willingly off.

Pool side movie under the stars

Zach's work has decided to start doing Summer movies next to the pool once it gets dark. They put up the big projector, brought in drinks and popcorn and candy, and we watched Madagascar 2. The girls were in heaven! Jord was dying to jump in that pool, though...

Tie-dye!!

For Young Womens last week, the youth got to tie-dye pillowcases for Girls Camp. I had taken my girls with me and they loved helping, but were so sad they couldn't do one of their own. Later that week I took them to pick out a shirt and some tie-dye so they could do their own. It was definitely a lot messier this time around. I wonder why?! :) They loved it and had to make sure they used the entire bottle (that was supposed to be enough color for 8 shirts). They turned out darling! Caid was mad hers still had white on it. I really have no idea how it still had white with as much color as she soaked on there.

Wheeler Farm

I love Wheeler Farm for two reasons, it's free and it's close. It's one of those places that if the kids are bored we can run over for a half hour just to get out. This last time they finally talked me into the wagon ride. I never have cash, so I made sure I brought some. I love Caid's forced smile in all of these and Jord's cheeser grin. And I especially love the dirt all over Caid's nose.

Nose shot!

Jordy has my phone all figured out, especially the camera. Every time I pick up my phone after she's been playing on it, I end up with about 50 pictures like these.

Last day of preschool

I was just going thru my pictures and realized all I've skipped over in the past few weeks. Caidence had her last day of Pre-preschool. :) Technically it is preschool, but she still has to go one more year before Kindergarten. She LOVED school. I had a hard time deciding if I should send her to Woodstock since that's where I went, or if I should send her to Oakwood since that's where most of the kids in the Ward will go. Oakwood won. I did feel like I should be loyal to Woodstock, but they don't have a bus. :) It is also nice to know so many people that go to Oakwood. She loved her teachers, Ms. Karen and Ms. Natalie. She loved her class. It was only 2 days a week, but just enough to give her something to look forward to and not be overwhelmed her first year. Her teachers did great checking her blood sugar every day so hopefully that will continue with her new teachers next year. We're definitely excited for the break this Summer, but can already tell she is needing to get back.

Silver Lake

Sunday afternoon we decided to head up to Silver Lake with Simon and Natalie. It was FREEZING! The kids even had a snowball fight! But they loved it. They climed this rock over and over and over. It was pretty steep but had a lot of good climbing "steps" so Caid made it up with no problem and even Jordy made it up once. And then saw how high up she was and was done.

First Official Tennis Lesson

Zach is starting to teach the girls his love. They had their first tennis lesson this week. It was more like Caidence had a lesson and Jordy played with the water cooler, chased balls, and danced around.

Jord Quotes

Whenever I'm doing the girls hair, I ask them how they want it (pig tails, braids...) so one day I asked Jord how she wanted me to do her hair. "Moo-hawk!!"

I was sitting on the couch wrapped in a blanket and had my legs up on the coffee table. Jordy climbed up and sat between my legs and sank down into the blanket so she was just hanging. As soon as she got comfortable she said "Help! I'm stuck in the birds nest!" When I tried to get her out, she was not up for it. She wanted to hang out in ther "birds nest."

Caid Quotes

We were at a family party on Memorial Day and all the kids were running around playing. I asked Caid if she was keeping an eye on her sister for me. She said yes, turned to run away, turned back to me and said "Two eyes!"

I asked Caid where is somewhere she would want to go on vacation? Usually she says Hawaii to build a sand castle and swim with the dolphins, but this time she said "Somewhere with a dancing dog in a tutu."

I am the Girls Camp Director this year and this past week the Young Women were having an activity where we were tie-dying pillow cases for camp so I went. I was taking the girls so I told them to hurry and eat dinner before we left for Young Womens. Caid asked if the girls were her age and I told her they were all older. So as we were leaving she said "Bye Grandma, we're going to Old Womens!"

New car...again

Last month the plan was for us to drive the Xterra and Altima into the ground. We had no intention of getting new cars any time soon. I drove the Xterra the majority of the time and it honestly was not very spacious inside. I wanted something roomier, with a third row, but was fine with keeping it for a few years.

Then Zach got in an accident and we knew we had to replace the Altima. We were looking for something similar and pretty much found out we were dreaming to find something comparable to the Altima. Zach's cousin owns a dealership, but he mostly just does transporting. We told him what we were looking for and a few days later he called and said he had the Tahoe. It was one he had previously owned, sold to a friend and told him that he would buy it back when he was ready to sell because he loved it and wanted it for his family. His friend put all kinds of work into it, and then when he was ready to sell it back, Zach's cousin wasn't in the market for a new car so he called us. We love it, but I couldn't justify two SUV's and the gas it takes to fill two SUV's. So he was still on the hunt for a smaller car for us. We thought it would take a few months, but he called us on Monday, we went and picked it up for the night to see how we liked it, and by Thursday we had the Xterra traded in and had another new car!
