Cabin Weekend

First weekend at the cabin for the year! And it was a quiet one. We sure were missing the older cousins when all the girls wanted to do was swing. Usually there's lots of cousins up there with us that want to push them the whole time. We got some work done, smores made, and in the 8 years we've been married, this was the first time I've seen Zach read a book by choice!

Mushy Pizza

Our deep freeze is outside where the girls spend most of their time playing. A few weeks ago I went out to get some frozen rolls out to make some homemade pizza, but instead of reaching into a bag of frozen bread, I felt mushy dough instead. Caid had turned the freezer off the day before (I'm assuming that's when it was.) It was still cold so the food was ok except for my big Costco bag of mushy dough. Fast forward a week. I had bought a replacement bag of frozen rolls since my new go-to lunch is homemade pizza. I went out to get some to defrost and Jord had done it for me...she had turned off the freezer again! Luckily they weren't as mushy so I must have caught it sooner. I was not about to throw away another huge bag of rolls so I formed them the best I could, put them on a pan and back in the freezer, and pulled out the duct tape so they can't turn my freezer off again!

2 and 4 year old pictures

Lots of pictures but I couldn't decide which ones not to post! We went to get them done in the morning so the sun wouldn't mess up the lighting. Poor Jordyn was shaking and telling me she was "fweezing!" but her mean mom made her wear a tank top and forced her to sit still. That's why she isn't smiling in any of them! 

Sprinklers!

Grandpa's sprinklers came on and the girls went crazy! Caid was soaked head to toe. Jord barely went close enough to get a drop on her, but she still had fun in the sun!

Wheeler Farm

The girls were so good to run errands with me the other day so on the way home we passed Wheeler Farm so I decided to take them to walk around for a little bit. Jord kept saying it was stinky and was scared the ducks would bite her. Complete opposite from Caid at that age who would chase the ducks and try to pet them! She's definitely my more timid child!

First trip to the zoo of the season

I was supposed to babysit my friends daughter for the day and then Nicole called to see if we wanted to go to the zoo. What's one more kid? We piled up the 6 kids age 4 and under and headed to the zoo. And ended up staying 4 hours! These are us at the bird show...

New Car!!

When Zach wrecked the car the plan was to just get another small car. However, I've always wanted something bigger than the Xterra, but figured I'd have to wait a few years. I wanted a third row and I'm pretty sure the backseat of the Xterra is smaller than a regular car. If I had both carseats in there, a third person could barely squeeze in between them. Zach's cousin owns a dealership and called us saying he had a Tahoe we had to come look at. He originally owned it, sold it to a guy who put on all the bells and whistles that I'll never even need, and then sold it back to him. We loved it and decided to buy it, and now we're still on the search for a smaller car that we can trade in the Xterra for. Two SUV's to fill up with gas does not sound fun!! The Tahoe has leather seats (yay! easy to clean) and a dvd player, which the girls are pretty upset they aren't allowed to watch except for long road trips.

We were at church and the first thing the girls do when they walk in is ask Grandpa for candy. After they had eaten quite a bit, I told them no more. Then Jordyn asked Grandma and she said no more. Jord started crying and came to tell me "Mom, grandma say no at me!"

I asked Caid if she wanted to pick out her clothes for school or if I should pick them out. She said "You pick them out and then I'll just complain to you cuz that's my favorite thing to do."

She saw a watch at the store but I wouldn't buy it for her. Later that day she asked what time dad would be home from work. After I told her she said "You should just buy me that watch and then you won't have to tell me what time."

I noticed a wart on the bottom of her toe and my sister told me to put duct tape on it. When I told Caid we were putting duct tape one her foot, she said "Why are you putting on butt tape?"

We finally found a new car! It has a dvd player in it, but I told her she was only allowed to watch it on long road trips. She said "So how about we only watch it on trips or whenever we're bored?"

Yesterday was Mother's Day. I asked the girls what they wanted for breakfast and Caid said candy. I told her no candy. "Mom, mothers aren't supposed to be mean to daughters on Mother's Day!" Later she asked me to do something for her, but I was busy so I told her to ask Zach. She said "It's Mother's Day so Mother's are supposed to do it for me."

We were watching cartoons and one had some bananas talking. She said, "Mom, I don't like bananas that think they are humans."

I threw away a Happy Meal toy, but obviously didn't bury it far enough in the trash. Caid saw it and said, "Mom! How dare you!"

I was trying to get her to eat something and she said, "Me and my sugar have to speak. (whispering to herself.) It says I'm not low and don't have to eat this."

Zach has been working a lot lately for a tournament. A LOT! Like leaving at 7:00 in the morning and not coming home until 11:45 at night. While we were driving the other day, Caid said, "Are you and daddy still married?" I laughed and told her yes. "Then maybe you guys should pull it together." I asked her what we need to pull together. "Pull your attitudes together and get along." Not sure what we need to work on since we never fight but apparently we've got some work to do! Haha
