Jordy Quotes

My dad asked Jordyn for a kiss. Her response? "No! You've got mustache all over your face!"

I tried to give Jord a kiss goodnight. She told me, "I don't need kisses from you. I get them all the time from Harry Potter."

Jord was in a conversation with her 4 year old cousin, Layla. Jordyn said something and Layla asked what she said. Jordyn answered, "I don't know, but it was something amazing!"

I overheard Jordyn playing Barbies in the other room. They were having a conversation about getting married. "I can't get married. I'm allergic to it."

The girls have been obsessed with watching "Full House" lately. Caid always says she wants to be DJ and that she'll marry Steve. Jordyn told her, "If you're DJ, you'll get your belly cut off!" (Her thought process here is that if DJ and Steve get married, then they'll have babies and she knows that my baby will be cut out so that must mean your belly gets off.)

The girls watched "Peter Pan" for the first time and have been singing "Yo ho, Yo ho!" ever since. The real song says, "Yo ho! Yo ho! A pirates life for me!" Jordyn's version, no matter how many times we try and tell her the real words, is "Your ho! Your ho! Your wife is onto me!"

Hike through memory lane

It is finally feeling like Spring so we decided it was time to get out and enjoy it. Sunday we took the girls on a hike up to the waterfall that we had our engagement pictures taken 9 years ago. Caid loved it. She has no fear, climbing rocks, trying to get up to the touch the waterfall, exploring caves. Jordyn is a little more on the timid side. She was so nervous she was going to slip and made me carry her most the way because her little legs were too tired.

Zachary D. Rideout, R.N.

When Zach and I first started dating, he was considering going into medicine. But he was so involved in tennis and was still playing College tennis, then becoming the assistant coach, that he decided to keep going with his passion and try to become a College coach. He soon found out how hard those positions were to come by, but in the meantime had been made the Junior Tennis Director at his club and had built a huge clientele. Through all of this he had off and on talked about going into Nursing, but his boss was always making promises of things to come so he would put off talking about it. He finally got sick of the waiting around and after multiple injuries, mostly just from the everyday teaching, came home one day and told me he had made an appointment with a school counselor. He was thinking that he would look into it, and possibly start in the Fall. This was the second week of April. After meeting with the counselor and finding out they only accept 50 applicants each semester, and then calling around to every college in the valley and finding out they all have a 1-2 year waiting list as well as only a certain amount of applicants they accept, he decided to try and apply for the Summer semester instead. Which meant his application was due the next week. In that week, he got all of his immunizations, CPR certification, drug tests, background check, application essay written, placement tests...They told him it is usually a 4 week process to apply and he got it done in a week. And then he had to wait another week to find out if he made it. Everything just came together so quick and we are so excited that he got accepted on the first try! His graduation date is set at December 14, 2014. (And his first set of finals is set for the week our baby is due!!)

Jordyn was teaching him how to pose for a first day of school picture.
And I made him "smile" for one more on his way out. Caid is trying to tickle him because he was not overly happy to be getting his pictures taken.

5 Years Old!!

My little girl is not so little anymore! Caidence turned 5 and could not be more excited. She got to take a treat to school and get the "5" crown. Then for her birthday date with us she chose to go to Olive Garden and pick out a movie on Netflix.
For her present I'd been buying these Disney Princess dolls for the last year. Every time they would go on sale I'd pick up a few. She even let her sister help her open them and gave her Belle so that she wouldn't feel left out.
Jordyn gave her a My Little Pony named Cadance. It talks and says her name and is by far her favorite gift. She got to celebrate with the grandparents and cousins and enjoyed every second. And so did I. Next year will be a friend party...not sure how much I'll be enjoying that one!
