going home...every newborn outfit drowns her! Originally due March 29, but I had to have a c-section so we had it all scheduled for March 23. The week before I had planned to get the house clean, make arrangements for where Caid would be while I was in the hospital, get the bags packed, etc. Well of course Monday the 15th Caidence got the flu. I spent the entire day cleaning up throw up and holding her so we didn't get much done. Tuesday the 16th I did all the throw up laundry and cleaning and started packing. That morning though I started feeling like I was just done. I knew we most likely would not be waiting another week. I started packing and making a list of the last minute things I'd need to take to the hospital. That afternoon I cleaned and vacuumed out my car, went shopping with Kalee, and then came home and realized I had the flu from Caidence. I started throwing up and once Zach got home from work, about 9, I hopped in the shower. Good timing, my water broke right when I got in (or at least I thought...its hard to tell when you're in the shower.) Zach called my parents to come get Caidence and we were out the door. I was so excited for the scheduled c-section because I knew I could shower and do my hair and makeup before to actually look presentable in pictures. Instead I ended up going with wet hair in sweats and no makeup and sick with the flu. We got to the hospital about 10 pm and checked in. They had to put me on antibiotics because my strep B test was positive. They took us into the operating room and Jordyn was born at 12:16 am, just in time for St. Patricks Day, and all the way thru surgery I was throwing up. And no we did not name her Jade in honor of St. Patty's Day, it was already picked out. The dr's kept trying to convince us to name her Patricia but we passed.
Caidence loves her sister, but has had a hard time seeing me with IV's and bandaids and not being able to pick her up. She is doing a little better now that we are home, but if anyone comes to visit, she gets scared that they are going to take her to stay overnight. She is definitely ready for things to be back to normal.

Its all in the Family

After reading both my sisters' blogs today, I've decided we're all crazy. First Jami has a post in order to save her marriage on two tv room setups because she and her husband can't agree on which layout is best so they've taken it to the polls. Then Jodi writes of what is only a day in her life, shoe shopping. She is the queen of indecisiveness. I have never seen anyone put so much thought into making a decision, only to buy and return and second and triple guess that decision. I've decided I blame them (and whoever we inherited it from) for my own decision making struggles. But if only I had the trait to return things. I now have 3 baby slings because I couldn't decide on a color and 3 nursing covers because they were a good deal. I guess there's always baby showers?? I drive Zach crazy with my rearranging. We've lived in this house less than 3 months and I've already rearranged our bedroom and our closet of all things four times. This week I decided I wanted a swaddle wrap for the baby. Do I get the cheaper one that is plain, the more expensive one that looks cute? I seriously look on ebay every single day to see if there's one I like, then every stores website that may have the same thing, google, etsy, compare colors, prices...I finally found a few I liked, but then I keep myself up at night picturing the pattern in my head knowing that it would be simple to make, but then I know if I went to pick out fabric it would be a two day process just to narrow down the fabric. I did finally order one and am waiting for it to be delivered, but then had to go to a few more stores today just to make sure that I didn't miss one I liked more.

That was just one example this week. I've been trying to decide if I should get Caid an Easter dress this year. I found one that was darling, but they didn't have her size. I told myself that if they had her size I would've gotten it. I checked every Target but none of them had the right size. I was there this week and checked again and of course, that's the only size they did have. I carried that dang dress around the whole store, and in the end put it back because she has so many dresses and doesn't really need a dress. But I told myself that if I could find one for a newborn that matched, I'd definitely go back and buy the one for Caidence too.

Sisters, I blame you.

Blessings

Yes just one month before our baby is due we find out that my insurance is cancelling us, when we thought we would be able to keep it until after the delivery. They put us on a conversion plan which almost seems pointless seeing as the deductible is $7500 but we needed it in case something goes wrong in the delivery. We've been wondering how we were going to come up with $7500 dollars, but we did do Aflac in addition this time which will pay $4000 so we only have to worry about $3500 now. So we got our taxes back from the accountant yesterday. In the 5 years we've been married I don't know if we've ever gotten a decent tax return. This year our tax return just happens to be $3500. Its amazing the way prayers are answered!!
