Motherhood

How does so much poop come out of something so small?! Good distance, Jordyn. (And I was sitting so there is more around the back of my leg!)

Homemade Oreos

Cookies:
2 cake mixes
1 C. Shortening
4 eggs

Mix all ingredients. Roll into 1-2 inch balls and bake at 350 degrees for 11 minutes. (For the tye-die cookies, I used a white cake mix, and once it was mixed, divided into four bowls and added gel food coloring and then rolled a little from each color into the ball.)

Frosting:
3 1/2 C. powder sugar
1/2 C. Margarine (not butter), softened
1 8 oz. block of cream cheese, softened

Mix and spread between two cookies. Cookies are best the next day after they have been covered because they will soften.

Happy Birthday Caid!!

I can't believe Caid's only two. She's my little smarty pants. But her two-year old attitude proves me otherwise.
*Counts to 11
*Loves to play outside
*Obsessed with Dora the Explorer, which we watch 47 times a day
*Says stuff in Spanish thanks to Dora
*Says everything and anything, full sentences
*Not completely potty trained, but mostly there (and mostly due to the fact that her parents are lazy and haven't fully pushed her)
*Our little comedian
*Says please and thank you to EVERYTHING
*Loves dogs and loves playing with Franklin all day long, and all dogs smaller than Franklin (which is all) is a puppy and she tries to carry them
*Very good big sister, and hates it when Jordyn cries
*Thinks its funny when she "toots" or "burps in her mouth" (she gets that from her dad!)
*Would run around naked all day if she could
*Loves to sing and dance
*Doesn't run, she prances on her tippy toes
Happy Birthday Caidence! We love you!!

One Month

First trip to Tanner Park

We took Franklin to the dog park for the first time. We weren't sure how he'd do being off a leash surrounded by so many dogs to go sniff, but he stayed right by us and was in heaven! Caid had to stop and pet every single "puppy," meaning any dog smaller than Franklin, which was every dog. She would say "Hi puppy. How are you? I carry you?" That girl has no fear of dogs!

Franklin wasn't so sure about the water at first. It took some convincing, and Zach dragging him in, but once he was in he loved it.
And the long nap that follows...

Holidays are much more fun when you have a kid old enough to enjoy it. :) Caidence loved all her Easter egg hunts this year. When we were done she got back to grandmas's and was lifting up rugs and moving couch cushions looking for more eggs. When she was doing the hunt at our house, we told her there was one more and she couldn't find it. Finally she goes "Ugh! Holy crap! Where's my egg!?"
Tuesday we decided to go up to the cabin for the night and hang out with Mandy and her friends and all the kids. Snowmobiling and sunburns!

2 Weeks

We've made it past the 2 week mark. I forgot how exhausting it is to have a newborn! No sleep and trying to still take care of a 2 year old. But I have had TONS of help with Caidence (THANK YOU EVERYONE!!) especially my dad. She's been passed around from one house to the next for sleepovers and playdates. She is very glad to finally be home and mom almost back to normal. I feel great but am still not supposed to lift anything bigger than Jordyn for the next few weeks so Caid is having a hard time with that but hopefully things will start to get back to normal, whatever normal is...
Suddenly very much a daddy's girl
Yes, she has looked basically homeless everyday the past few weeks.
Finally some time with mom, even if she is nuts!
Trying to share her food, luckily there was nothing on the spoon.
We've been spoiled living next door to grandpa. Dinner every night and slurpees for breakfast!
