Fool me once, shame on you...Fool me twice, call me outsmarted by my 3 year old!!

I recently grounded Caid from TV for a week because she was in this incredibly whiny phase that I'm sure is stemmed from being cooped up inside and watching too much TV. After the week was up I told her she only got to watch shows during quiet time, which is during Jordyn's nap.

So Friday we drove to gymnastics, which we've done every Friday for the past 12 weeks. We walk in and Caid refuses to go in. Usually she loves it and runs right in. She starts crying and telling me she just wants to go home, she's scared, whatever excuse she can to leave. After about 15 minutes, I finally decided she was having an off day and we went out to the car. We got loaded up and she told me she was nervous because she didn't know the kids (she had just got moved up to the 5-6 year old class so she really didn't know any of the kids). But then, she says she just wants to go home for quiet time to watch a show. I told her she didn't get TV if she wasn't going to go to her gymnastics class. Hmmm. How 'bout that? She instantly decided she wanted to give it another shot. So I turn the car around and she goes right in to the last half hour of gymnastics and loved it. And the second class was over she asked if she could watch a show now.

Fast forward to Monday. First thing in the morning she asked if she could have quiet time. I told her quiet time was only during nap time, and she'd be at school for nap time today. She has never had issues at school before, but an hour into class I get a call from her teacher that Caid is crying about stomach pains. I run over and pick her up and she keeps pointing to the same spot on the side of her stomach. The second we get home and I lay her on the couch with a show and lunch, she perks back up. The rest of the day she was running around playing and perfectly fine. I asked if her stomach still hurt, and she said "Yeah and I have a fever. I'm too sick to go back to school." I still don't know if she really ever had a stomach ache, but I do know she's too smart for her own good!
We all know I have a list a mile long of my favorite shows to watch. Well, I just added another to the list. I'm totally hooked on "Downton Abbey." It's British, set in the early 1900's during the war, and on PBS. Don't you just want to run out and start watching right now?! Seriously not my "type" of show and I hesitated when my sister in law told me I had to watch it. I finally decided to watch Season 1 on Netflix and I definitely love it! And I definitely recommend this movie! Loved it! And I'm pretty sure the little girl in it is the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Jordy Quotes

That's right...Jordyn is talking. A lot! And more and more of it is understandable. :)

Fifi: the name of her blanket

She is very picky about what she wears. One day I was trying to get her dressed and she didn't want anything I picked. I finally let her point to what she wanted and she was asking for her "Up above-a." I couldn't figure it out so I lifted her to where she could reach and she grabbed a star jacket. A-ha! "Up above the world so high! Twinkle twinkle little star!"

Jord goes thru phases of a little constipation. Poor thing! She's miserable! So today I was making dinner and she came running in with the BIGGEST smile and clear as day said, "Mom! I did it!" I asked what she did and she grabbed her bum and said, "Got my pooh out!!"

I think she's going to catch on to what I'm doing and then I'll really be in trouble, but I will sometimes pretend she hurt me just so I can hear her say, "Sowwy mom." She sounds exactly like Gilly from SNL.

Happy Birthday Cooper!

Right after the aquarium, we headed straight to Caid's friend, Cooper's, birthday party. His little sister, Lucy, is Jordyn's good friend so she got invited, too. Jordyn was so excited to be able to ride all the rides by herself...as was I. And my Eldredge stomach.

Aquarium

Jillian was in town for over a month for Christmas and we still only managed to get together once! December is way too busy! But at least we did manage to fit in one trip to the Living Planet Aquarium. I have this same picture of Caidence every time we have been to the aquarium. She won't let us leave until she gets to ride the frog and get a picture!Look at all those cute girls! Maybe next time we'll all have boys the same age!
Yep, she's pretty cute! Check out those poses!Zach and I walked into the room to see these cute little girls cuddling and watching TV together, a welcome change to the usual teasing and fighting we walk in on.

Beauty Shop

Only Uncle Alex would sit for an hour and let both girls paint his nails. And in true salon fashion, Caidence talked and talked and talked to her client. He finally pulled out his camera on his phone and filmed her for 10 straight minutes and she didn't stop talking. He went straight to the gym after and had the prettiest nails there!
