I have a Kindergarten graduate!!

How in the world am I old enough to have a kindergarten grad? Caidence loved school this year (as long as she didn't have to do math.) She's reading and loves to write letters to people. She loves art and P.E. She's made lots of friends and is excited for Summer. Ms. Diaz was the best teacher! We'll be sad to move on to someone new next year. They had a talent show for the end of the year. Caidence told me weeks ago she wanted to play the flute in it. She's never played the flute before, but saw one at her cousins and didn't think it looked that hard. We found a recorder at the dollar store so she bought it and every song sounded the same. No matter where you moved your fingers on it, the sound came out the same. Then she decided she would play the piano "because I'm really good at it." She's never played before. Then she said she'd play soccer "because I'm a really good soccer player." She was on a team once, but quit before the first game started when she found out she had to share the ball with her team. Then she decided to hula hoop (with me giving her a nudge.) We went back to the dollar store for a hula hoop. After she'd practiced a little, Brielle dropped off a bag of hand me downs and there were some tap shoes in it. We changed our mind again. She wanted to so a tap dance. I said, "Why don't you hula, tap, and play your flute?" "Because my teacher said we could only do two talents and it could be our choice, not what our parents wanted us to do." So I showed up and let her tap. And she did great!

Kicking off Summer

School isn't technically out yet, but Memorial Day was perfect Summer weather! So, we took advantage of the day off and played like school's out for Summer!! We started with a trip to the splash pad, but it was crazy! People everywhere. I was texting Kalee and told her we were at the splash pad and she asked why we didn't go to her pool instead. I totally spaced I had access to a pool so close! So we packed up and headed over! (Look at this brave girl and her insulin pump!)
Trey was so tired so Alex took him and got him to sleep at their apartment. Then once he was awake, he came back to play and loved it!

That night I made Zach take us for snow cones, but the one by our house wasn't open yet so we drove to Sandy. Totally worth it!

Waiting at the bus stop with nap hair!

And look what Grandpa brought home from the cabin for us!!

Memorial Weekend at the cabin

The girls were asking everyday for a week how much longer until the cabin. They could hardly stand it. Jordyn helped Grandpa get his jobs done so he could come, too. She rode with him on the lawnmower for an hour!

When we got to the cabin, the roads were wet so we had to park at the bottom and walk up. Then the boys took the 4-wheelers down to bring up all the bags. Of all things to fall off in the mud, my candy bucket became a casualty. Lucky potguts.

Trey got his first ride in the airplane swing. There's nothing cuter than baby giggles!! He was in heaven! Pure joy and he had lots of cousins to keep pushing him.

He also learned to crawl at the cabin. I wish I had my camera on, but he started crawling towards a toy and when he finally reached it, we all cheered. He stopped, looked around, and dropped flat and started to scream and cry. He was either scared, or mad that we knew he could move around on his own. But I was ready to get back to my own bed after one night. My kids were up all night! It made for a great nights sleep once we got home!

Caid Quotes

We had already been to Target once that day, but had to go back. Caidence said, "Can we go to a different checker so she doesn't call security on us for being crazy and coming back again?"

Jord Quotes

This girl kills me! Her personality is off the wall. She's goofy and fun and spunky and sensitive. She hates to be in trouble and will get sad and teary if it was really a mistake. But if she's getting in trouble for teasing or something she knows she's doing just to push your buttons, then she'll try and get you to laugh to get out of it.

The other day I was trying to feed Trey a jar of baby food and she sat right in front of him and started eating Cheetohs. She'd wave one in front of his face and then hurry and eat it. I kept telling her to stop teasing. She kept doing it and he hit my spoon away trying to grab a Cheetoh and gross mushy peas went everywhere. I yelled at Jordyn to move away and leave him alone. She looked at me and said, "Ok but mom, next time maybe you should remember this song. 'When you feel so mad that you want to roar, take a deep breath and count to four. 1...2...3...4.' " Stupid cartoons teaching our kids stupid lessons. :)

We love our Mr. T!!

These girls sure love their brother! When he wakes up from his nap and is crying, if I don't get in quick enough, there is always one or the other in there holding him and rocking him trying to calm him down until I can pick him up. They love to play with him, feed him...and tease him. I walked in the other day after they were playing with him to find that they'd shoved all his toys down his back. Where do they come up with this? (I could bet money it was Jordyn's idea)
They are getting pretty good at changing diapers, but I usually have to help pin him down.

Nine Months

Time needs to slow down! I can't believe it's been 9 months since this little boy joined our family! Can't imagine life without him! What was it like to have two hands to do things before? :) Trey is still my little buddy/shadow. He's permanently attached at the hip. But not holding still. He bounces and jumps and squirms and grabs. He's going to keep us busy! He likes to sit and play with toys, but would rather be in my lap. He's starting to scoot and climb. He eats everything, even with no teeth. He loves his sisters, loves to scream and grunt, says "Mmm" when he eats, says "mama" (or at least that's what I tell myself), sucks on his toes, dumps out bowls or baskets or my purse, loves showers, dances whenever music comes on, wants to cuddle when he sleeps, sleeps 8-8, but eating lots in between, naps twice a day, 2 hours each, depending on carpool, etc. He's got the cutest laugh, and is getting more and more personality everyday!
