Camping out

For Father's Day, we were supposed to go to the cabin but that fell thru do we decided to camp out in the backyard. But that meant we needed to go buy a new fire pit! We set everything up and hung out by the fire while the kids played. When it was starting to get dark, a car pulled up if cousins stopping by to say hi. They decided to stay and sleep under the stars. Zach didn't make it very long, but the rest of us stuck it out, even though it was freezing cold by the middle of the night. The next night we did tin foil dinners and Dutch oven dessert and ended up with all kinds of family and neighbors hanging out around the fire with us. I see lots of camp fire parties happening this summer! (But I'll leave the tent part out and sleep inside.)

Tennis lessons

And so it begins! Now that Zach is working in the hospital, and only doing tennis part time, he's started doing tennis lessons for the kids. We got them their own rackets and now Trey uses it to hit everything, ball or not!

At the fair

Brielle was dancing at the fair so we went to watch. After, the girls wanted to ride a ride. We told them they could get a snowcone or ride one ride. We weren't convincing enough because they picked the ride. They decided on one that went around in circles up in the air. I kept asking Jordy if she was sure and if she'd be ok, but she wouldn't budge. So Jodi and I sent the little girls on by themselves while we were on the ground watching. They started out all smiles, but once it started, it was a lot higher and faster and LONGER of a ride than we thought! Poor Jordy was screaming for me the whole time and just when we'd think it was over, it would switch directions and spin the other way. Her face was sheer terror and as soon as the ride FINALLY ended, she came running off shaking and wrapped herself around me leg. They had enough tickets for a kiddie ride so we let them ride the little kid roller coaster which was much more up her alley.

Last day of school

School's out for Summer! No more fighting over what clothes to wear, what to eat for breakfast, what to pack in our lunch, if homework is done, how we want our hair done. From here on out its pajamas and messy hair. Sleeping in and breakfast on the porch. (We forgot to take a picture of Jordyn on her last day of school, other than at her graduation program.)
