Quilting with Grandma

Grandma is always doodling new quilt designs so Caidence decided to design her a new idea. And of course Grandma pulled through! She's using it for her Primary singing time quilt, but Caidence is counting down the days until she gets to keep it. 

This is the Place field trip

I got to go on Caidence's last field trip of the year with her. She was sad that I never was a mothers helper in her classroom throughout the year so I finally left the lite kids with a babysitter and went on her field trip. We went to This is the Place State Park and learned about the pioneers. They got to push handcarts, learn about barbering and blacksmiths, take a train ride, and I got to ride in a bus with 75 little recess smelling first graders. :) It was much more fun than I expected!

Preschool Graduate

Yay!! Jordyn graduated Preschool! She was so sad because she loved it and didn't want to leave all her friends. She can't wait to go to Kindergarten next year and get to go to school every day. She doesn't like to be home bored, always wants to be on the move (just like her mom) so everyday she is asking "So where are we going today? Who are we going to see?" She's turned into a little clown, goofy, always trying to make people smile, and never wanting to get in trouble. That's not to say that she isn't a tease and push people's buttons, but she definitely doesn't like to get in trouble for it. :)

Paintballing Date

For Christmas all the wives gave the husbands in Zach's family paintballing passes. We finally decided on a day that worked for everyone. I thought we'd get a big padded suit to wear, but what you wear is what you play in. And it hurts!! But it was do fun!! It's addicting and something I'll definitely be going back for. That Eldredge hunting instinct is deep and so is the need to shoot and kill. :)

Celebrations!

Lots of celebrating going on around here! We had a hard time getting pregnant with Trey and for a while thought he was our caboose. But then once he was here we knew we weren't done. So when Zach graduated in December we decided we'd try for a friend for him. Then when he didn't pass his test, we decided we'd wait a bit, but I found out we were too late. But poor Zach was so stressed with studying and trying to pass and still work to support us that I decided to keep the secret for a while. He was scheduled to take the test again and I had my ultrasound scheduled for the day after so I decided I'd wait until after he'd tested to tell him. Which meant I had to wait a whole month without talking about it. It actually made it go by really fast and almost didn't feel real because I wasn't sick and I was the only one who knew. I decided to tell him after my appt, but before he'd gotten his test results just in case the test didn't go well. He'd studied so hard for so long, but he was certain he'd failed so I didn't want to deliver this news and add more stress if he was already upset. He was very excited and in shock. But he wouldn't know his results until midnight that night. He made me promise not to stay awake and look until the next morning. I kept my promise. But then I woke up at 1:00 in the morning and couldn't sleep because I kept thinking about how his results were available. So I looked it up and he passed!! I woke him up immediately and told him he was officially a nurse. He didn't believe me and looked up the results again. And again. He had texts from his nursing school friends who had stayed awake and checked for him. They were so excited for him! He's worked so hard and everything was finally falling into place. We were up until 4:00 in the morning. We couldn't sleep we were so excited and relieved. The next day we remembered our best quality $1 sparkling cider so we popped it open to celebrate. We decided once we told the kids about the baby it wouldn't stay a secret for long so this is how we made our announcement. I swore I'd never have a December baby, but I've realized that timing is never in our control and everything happens for a reason at the right time. 

Payson Temple

I hadn't been to a temple open house since I was in Young Women's so when the Payson Temple was announced, we told the kids about it and they were so excited about the chance to see the inside. We took them out of school since it wasn't open on weekends and made the hour drive. It was gorgeous!! It may be one of my new favorite temples. All the decor, the set up, the outside were so beautiful. And the kids were so well behaved. I had many people stop and tell me how wonderful our kids were and respectful. They really do have a sweet testimony of the Gospel. 

Terrible Twos are Here!

Trey is all boy and all toddler. He's hit the terrible twos a little early. He wants to do it himself, whether it's eating or picking out his clothes. If I get him dressed in something he doesn't want, he throws a fit. But then he's perfectly happy when I put him in something he wants. So happy in fact he doesn't want it off and ends up sleeping in it half the time. His favorite thing to do is clean the toilet and wants to clean it every single day. We've already experienced many tantrums and time outs. But he's still the sweetest boy around!

Happy Birthday Caidence!!

Caidence is 7! She's growing up so fast it's crazy! She asked for matching pajamas with her American Girl doll. Then we surprised her with tickets to go see Kelly Clarkson in concert later this summer. She was so excited! "For real? Like in person? In real life? Can I get her autograph?" I'm starting to think this is one of the hardest ages. But maybe it's just her strong willed personality. She definitely gets her mind set on something and won't let it go. She's very particular on clothes, food, etc (wonder where she gets that, oops) so we just need to work with her on getting over it when things aren't going our way. She's a great helper with Trey, getting great grades, a good friend, super responsible with her diabetes, and amazes me with her maturity! Happy birthday Caidence!!
