First visit from the Tooth Fairy!

Caidence has been asking me since preschool when she'd start losing her teeth. I told her probably kindergarten. Kindergarten ended and she still had all her teeth in tact. And was not happy about it! So here we are with only a month of first grade left and I did not have a very happy girl! But a few weeks ago she finally noticed her permanent tooth coming in behind, but the baby tooth wasn't even loose. I called and scheduled a dentist appt to get it pulled and Caid was so excited. We got there, she was as happy as can be, and then they tried to give her laughing gas. And she freaked out. She did not want them to touch her. The dentist told her she could just wait and have it come out on its own and she refused to leave without that tooth out. So they tried to give her numbing gel. And she freaked out! So she was once again told she could wait, but she wanted it out. So they tried to just give the shot. And once again, freaked out! Once the dentist tried to send us home, she sat there with her arms folded and wouldn't leave. I have never seen her like that since her early diabetes days. I thought I was going to have to call Zach to come help me get her out of there. But she eventually calmed down. And in the weeks that followed, she got hit in the face with a football knocking it loose and then ran into a wall. And finally the day came where I asked her if I could try one pull and then I'd leave her alone, and one pull was all it took! She set up a tea party for the Tooth Fairy and was so excited to wake up and find a dollar!

American Monument Legos

The mall has a lego exhibit going on right now of American monuments. There are 11 incredible lego displays so we took the kids early with the mall walkers before the stores were open to avoid crowds. They were able to run around and see everything up close and then finished it off with breakfast with Grandma and Grandpa, Kalee and Alex, and Nicole and her kids.

We've sprung for Spring!

We're loving this weather! Walks, bike rides, playing outside. But please don't tease us and start snowing in May!

Career Day

Jordyn's preschool was having career month so they asked me to come and talk about cosmetology. I decided to use Jord as my client and did a full makeover on her. She loved getting pampered and all the girls were entertained. The boys were less than impressed, but Jord said it was the best presentation ever. :)

Babysitting cousins

Jodi and Don got to go to Mexico for a week so we had the job of the entertainment committee for the kids. Dad and I really took our job seriously and braved the zoo on free zoo day. We were up and out the door first thing in the morning so we could try and beat the crowds. We went swimming, to a play, to get pizza, had a movie night, and were all kinds of fun.

More "winter" entertainment

This winter has made for some pretty awesome weather! But we have had to get creative inside on the colder days. We brought the slide inside and have made lots of forts and other messes. But it won't be long before we're outside sun up to sun down!

18 Months old

My baby has grown into a mini man!! We went in for his 18 month checkup and he did great! He is 23 pounds 1 oz (25-50th percentile) and 30.7 inches (5th percentile). So basically short and chubby. He took his first steps in November, but waited until the last few weeks to actually take off and give up crawling. Now he can't be stopped. He takes laps around the house all day long, which gives my aching arms some much needed rest from carrying him. He loves to be outside, visit Grandma and Grandpa, pet the dog, tease his sisters, wrestle with dad, and help me with whatever I'm doing. He's talking a little, more each day. He says "mom, dad, hi, bye, grandma, grandpa, uh-oh, stinky, woof, owie, cheese, no, love you, yes, banana, vroom, ball." He is such a good sweet boy. Caidence was getting her pump changed and Jordyn was busy so she couldn't hold her hand which is usually her job, so Trey heard Caidence scared about it and came over and grabbed her hand and held it until she was done and then gave her a kiss and went back to playing. He knows how to cheer anyone up. Can't imagine life without him!
