After a few days of beaching it, we decided to take a day and head to the other side of the island. Isn't this exactly how you picture Hawaii to look?
We went on a "hike" to Rainbow Falls. It was so pretty and full of cool trees. And mud. Caid said, "There isn't supposed to be mud and bugs in Hawaii. Hawaii is supposed to be beautiful. These bugs need to go back to our village."
Then we drove to the volcano. We mostly just saw the steam. And it was freezing! When I got home my parents asked if we drove down to the bottom where the volcano meets the ocean and you can get right up close to it and it's warmer. Apparently we missed that sign and didn't know it was an option.
After a full day in the car, the kids were wiped out!
