Visitors from the North Pole

Our first visitor came all the way from the North Pole (or Barnes and Noble) this week. He's our new friend, Parker. If you've never heard of the Elf on the Shelf, it's a really fun concept. It's an elf that comes with a story that he is one of Santa's helpers sent on December 1 to live with your family. You give him a name (and I have no idea where Caidence came up with Parker (or Parper as Jord says.)) He watches you all day and then reports back to the North Pole every night to tell Santa if you were good or bad that day, and then comes back and hides in a new spot each day. Which means mom and dad need to remember to move Parker! And the best part is the kids are not allowed to touch or he loses his magic. So far my kids still fight, they still tell me no, and I'm constantly threatening that Parker is going to tell Santa, but they have fun looking for him and once they hear the threat that he'll tell Santa, they usually change their attitude pretty quick. And it is the cutest thing watching Jordyn say "Hi Parper, Hi Parper" over and over. Our next visitor came to Zach's work party last night. The second Santa walked in, Caid pushed her way thru all the kids and gave him the biggest hug yelling "SANTA!!" Jord was equally excited until she sat on his lap and hopped right back off. She wasn't scared, just didn't want him to touch her. When Zach held her next to him, Jord kept petting his fur. Caid asked for a big pink car to drive and Jordyn asked for a baby doll. Now I don't have to wait in line at the mall!! Who are we kidding, I wouldn't do that anyway, but at least now they have a picture with Santa.
